Cosmetic inlay, onlay

Cosmetic inlay, onlay

Inlays and onlays are actually very stable and durable fillings, though they are not done by the dentists, but are fabricated by a dental technician. The dentist will prepare the place for the inlay, takes an impression for a mold that will be used by the technician in the dental lab to make the inlay. After it gets back to the dentist, it can be glued into the prepared cavity with special glue. So inlays are actually very precise fillings with a great marginal closure which prevents future decay in the tooth.

Onlays are inserts that cover a molar’s cusps and the whole occlusal surface. If at least one cusp is intact in the tooth, the insert is called an inlay.

E-max pressed ceramic inlays

Pressed ceramic restoration made by dental technicians. In case of ceramics, the shaping of the occlusal surface is done manually with precise and careful handwork, in order to get the most optimal results.

Advantages of pressed ceramics are high esthetic value, individual tooth color and extremely precise elaboration. Thanks to these factors, pressed ceramic restorations are absolutely invisible in the mouth.  Ceramic inlays are fixed using a special material and the best part is besides the highest esthetic value, they are also very durable and long-lasting.
